Sake Cup + Masu Set
The Masu is a wooden square box which was originally designed as a measurement for important commodities such as rice, grains, soy sauce, and of course. It is still considered to be auspicious and is often present at ceremonies such as weddings and cherry blossom viewings.
There is a pouring style called “Spillover” which is a way of drinking by putting a glass in a Masu and pouring it until it overflows. It is one of the most common ways to serve you sake in Izakaya and traditional restaurants in Japan.
